AGM, and Call For Nominations For Committee Members

All members attending the 2016 AABHL Conference in Melbourne are invited and encouraged to attend the AGM which will be held during the conference on Saturday 26thth November at 16:45. Elections for the AABHL Committee and Officer positions will be conducted at the AGM. The agenda for the AGM will be circulated in October.

The Committee is currently comprised of the following 4 officers and 6 members:

This will be the sixth AGM and election for AABHL.  The Constitution requires that any committee member who has served 3 years without being re-elected must stand down but may re-stand. This year Rachel Ankeny and Camilla Scanlan will stand down from the committee after serving 3 years, both are prepared to re-stand.  Ainsley Newson has indicated she will stand down from the Committee. 

 

Membership of the Committee positions is open to all members. Nominations are invited for other AABHL financial members to join the Committee, either as officers or Committee members.  Nominations will be taken for the Vice President and Treasurer positions as well as for a committee member.  In the event that there are more nominations for positions than required an election will be held at the AGM. 

 

Call for nominations

Should you wish to nominate a member for election to the AABHL Committee or to an Office position, please send to the Secretary, Lynn Woodward, at lynn.woodward@jcu.edu.au:

  1. the name of the nominee and the position for which they are being nominated
  2. an indication of their willingness to stand
  3. the names of the proposer and seconder of the nomination
  4. the state, institution and contact details of the nominee
  5. a brief statement [maximum 100 words] describing the nominee for inclusion on an information sheet which will accompany ballot papers (if the number of nominations exceeds number of vacant positions)

Nominations received by midday on Friday 21st October 2016 and will be circulated to the members and added to the ballot.
